Description: The Akhdam are a dark-skinned people group who are regarded as untouchables in Yemen. They speak the Taizi dialect of Yemeni Arabic. Their origin is unknown, though many believe they migrated from East Africa centuries ago.
Prayer Points:
• The Akhdam are greatly mistreated and discriminated against by the majority Arabs. Pray that their identity as sons and daughters of the King of Kings might be restored in Christ.
• It is difficult for the Akhdam to get meaningful employment. Most are forced into low- paying demeaning work. Pray that they might be lifted out of hopelessness by the transforming message of the gospel and the blessing of your people from all over the world.
• Many Akhdam women are street sweepers, who are forced to work late into the night. They are often abused and attacked with impunity. Pray that the Spirit of God might bring conviction on those who mean their harm and that they might find in Jesus the loving care and protection their hearts yearn for.
A Prayer: Heavenly Father, may your strong arm of justice reach down and bring the fullness of your righteousness in Christ to the Akhdam people.
