April 28 / Bahraini

Description: The Bahraini are a small island people living off the coast of Saudi Arabia in the Persian Gulf. Along with Iraq they are the only Arab nations that are a majority Shiite Muslim. Before the acceptance of Islam in 628 AD, Bahrain was a strong center of Christianity in the Middle East.

Prayer Points:
• The Bahraini are known for their tolerance of other faiths. Pray that this may increase and that Christians might be able to freely practice their faith in the country.
• Bahrainis are proud to be one of the first Arab regions to convert to Islam. Pray that the spiritual strongholds of religion might be broken over Bahraini society and that they might be drawn to the freedom of the gospel.
• There has been significant unrest in Bahrain since 2011, particularly among Shiites demanding change in the country. Pray that this uncertainity might lead Bahrainis to seek the only sure security found in Christ.

A Prayer: Heavenly Father, may the Bahraini place their hope in Jesus alone and be transformed by the power of your love.

Every year 5,000 Bahraini die without Christ, many of whom never hear the gospel in their lifetime. Let's do something to change that.
