Description: The Tajikistani are Tajik nationals living in the former soviet republic of Tajikistan. They are a complex group of numerous Central Asian tribes which speak an eastern dialect of Farsi. The term Tajik was mostly used by outsiders until recently.

• Muslim extremism is on the rise in Tajikistan and threatens the freedom of all believers. Pray that the government would find a way to suppress these groups without hindering the freedom of believers.
• There has been limited distribution of the Bible in Tajikistan since the completion of the Bible in their language in 1992. Pray that for the effective distribution of over one million copies throughout the country and that every family would own a copy.
• Over 4,000 mosques have been built in Tajikistan in the last decade, though less than half the Tajik attend. Pray for effective outreach to those disillusioned with spiritually empty ritual.
