Description: The Kazakhs descend from Genghis Khan from the 13th century. They were divided into three great alliances of tribes which eventually broke away from the Uzbeks in the 16th century and formed their own confederation.
Prayer Points:
• Over 5,000 mosques have been built in Kazakhstan in recent years in an attempt to re-Islamicize the nation. Pray that those seeking the truth might be redirected by God's spirit to houses of worship where Jesus Christ is exalted above all else.
• The young Kazakh church has been a missionary Church, planting the first fellowships among the Kirgiz (a closely related people). Pray for more leaders and evangelists to be trained and sent out.
• A culturally sensitive Russian Bible is being prepared for the 40% of Kazakhs who no longer speak their native language. Pray for its successful distribution.
