Description: The Sindhi Hindus are a minority within the Sindhi ethnicity. The majority of Sindhi converted to Islam beginning in the 8th century. The minority that retained their Hindu faith were primarily from the business community. Half live in Pakistan and half in India in a region called the Sindh.
Prayer Points:
• The Sindhi Hindus are proud of their heritage in promoting and defending Hinduism. Pray that one day they would enter into the eternal inheritance in Christ and use their wealth and business networks for the advancement of God's kingdom.
• The Sindhi Hindus have a large diaspora outside of the Sindh region, both within South Asia and internationally. Pray for intentional outreach from Christians living in proximity to Sindhi people all over the world.
• Many Sindhi Hindus are attracted to Sikhism and adhere to its teachings while retaining their Hindu identity. They are sometimes referred to as Sahajdaris. Pray that these seekers after truth might find in Jesus the hope they are searching for.
A Prayer: Heavenly Father, soften the hearts and open the eyes of Sindhi Hindus to desire you above all else and to find in Jesus the gateway to your love and mercy.
Every year 30,000 Sindhi Hindus die without Christ, many of whom never hear the gospel in their lifetime. Let's do something to change that.
