April 14 / Emirati Arab

Description: The Emirati Arabs are primarily members and descendants of the Bani Yas tribal confederation. The word Emirati comes from the Arab word Emir, which means commander. Their country consist of seven emirates which are united under a Supreme Council.

Prayer Points:
• The Emirates have one of the highest degree of religious freedom for an Arab country in the Middle East. Pray that this will continue and that the Emirates would become a base for reaching the entire Middle East.
• The Sheikh of Abu Dhabi presides over the Supreme Council that governs the country. Pray for his salvation and for opennes to the gospel among all the leaders of the council.
• Most of the wealthiest and most influential Arabs come to the Emirates for vacation and recreation. Many of those who serve them are evangelicals from around the world. Pray for creative witness and divine opportunities to show the love of Christ.

A Prayer: Heavenly Father, may the Emirati Arabs be awakened by your Spirit to the knowledge of the Truth found in the gospel and your Son Jesus.

Every year 16,000 Emirati Arabs die without Christ, many of whom never hear the gospel in their lifetime. Let's do something to change that.
