Description: The Muslim Ossetians are an Iranian people living in the Caucaus region of Russia. The major Muslim tribe among the Ossetians are the Digor. Around 50,000 Digor migrated to Turkey during the days of the Ottoman Empire. During WWII, the Digors were accused of collaborating with the Nazis, and many perished during a forced deportation.

• Just over the border from Russia, are Ossetian tribes that are Orthodox Christians. Pray for a spiritual awakening among these tribes that will result in missionary outreach to their Muslim cousins in the North.
• The break-up of the Soviet Union resulted in two major armed conflicts between the Ossetians and their neighbors. Pray for God's peace to come to this region and for the commissioning of spirit-filled intercessors who will declare the authority of Jesus over the land.
• During Soviet times Islam was suppressed among the Ossetians. After the fall of the Soviet Union, a major Islamic revival began with huge outside investment. Pray for the reversal of this movement and for a disillusionment with false religion that will lead the Ossetians to the truth of the gospel.

Every year 1,000 Ossetian Muslims die without Christ, many of whom never hear the gospel in their lifetime. Let's do something to change that.
