Description: The Tulus are a Dravidian people living on the Western coast of India, primarily in the state of Karnataka. Historically a warrior people known for their martial arts, today they are largely engaged in agriculture and fishing.
Prayer Points:
• The Tulu have a strong sense of ethnic identity and are demanding national recognition of their language and the creation of their own state called Tulu Nadu. Pray that the Tulu might find their identity in Christ and come to know their eternal place in God's kingdom.
• The Tulu are one of the least-reached Hindu Dravidian ethnicity in India. Pray for many church-planters to be sent from the more reached Tamil and Telugu Dravidian peoples to evangelize the Tulu people.
• The Tulu are famous for the dances, such as the Daiva Kola, which is a spirit worship dance performed at night. Pray for spiritual deliverance for the Tulu and that their dance traditions might one day be used to glorify the Creator.
