Description: The Khmer of Vietnam, also known as the Central Khmer, live along the border between Vietnam and Cambodia. As a people, they once controlled much of southern Vietnam.
Prayer Points:
• The Vietnamese Khmer were greatly affected by the Vietnam War. Many were discplaced and lost their livelihood. Since then the Vietnamese have attempted to absorb them into the general population of Vietnam. Pray that God's healing would come and for restoration of their identity and protection of their culture.
• In rural areas, the Vietnamese Khmer are led by village headman. Pray for the salvation of these leaders.
• The Vietnamese Khmer have maintained their Buddhist tradition even in the face of Communism. Pray for their spiritual leaders that they might encounter Jesus.
A Prayer: Heavenly Father, may your word be established among the Khmer of Vietnam and your glory revealed in Jesus.
Every year 11,000 Vietnamese Khmer die without Christ, many of whom never hear the gospel in their lifetime. Let's do something to change that.
