August 26 / Nepali Muslims

Description: The Nepali Muslims are a cluster of around 40 people groups which live in Nepal and speak Nepali as a second language. For their mother tongue, they speak languages such as Maithili and Bhojpuri. Only in the hill country do they speak Nepali as their primary language, representing about 20% of the Nepali Muslims.

Prayer Points:
• One fellowship has emerged among the Nepali Muslims through the intentional efforts of a missionary team. Pray for other teams to be deployed in the cities of Kapilbastu, Parsa and Rautahat.
• A network in Nepal is coming together to focus ministry efforts from churches in Nepal on the Nepali Muslims. Pray for God's blessing on this new beginning and for real unity through the Holy Spirit.
• Nepali Muslims are extremely poor. Many are rickshaw operators, though almost none own the rickshaws they operate. Pray for one ministry that is seeking to help these operators purchase their own rickshaws through micro-finance.

A Prayer: Heavenly Father, strenghten those whom you have called to bring your glory to the Nepali Muslims through your Son Jesus.

Every year 22,000 Nepali Muslims die without Christ, many of whom never hear the gospel in their lifetime. Let's do something to change that.
